"Xaintrailles" serait une déformation de "Senta Aralha" venant elle-même de "Senta Eulalia".
Cassini : Saintraille (c’était plus simple !)
Sur une hauteur (le château et l’église sont à 195 m d’altitude), le village regarde les Pyrénées au sud (à confirmer !) et l’arribère de Garonne au nord.
A l’ouest commence la forêt landaise.
